Once upon a time, there was a young man named Li Ming. He was intelligent and capable but always thought his abilities were unmatched. He often told his friends, "I never slack off in my work, and my judgments are always correct." However, his friend Zhang Hua quietly observed his words and actions.

One day, Zhang Hua said to Li Ming, "Li Ming, have you really practiced 'self-reflection' ('san xing wu shen')? I think there may still be some areas where you fall short."

Li Ming replied with不服气 (a sense of defiance), "I reflect on myself every day. How can I fall short?"

Zhang Hua smiled and said, "Let me tell you a story. There was a farmer who worked hard every day, but he always thought his land was the best. One day, he heard praise from his neighbors, which made him even more proud. However, one day, a wise man passed by and told the farmer that although his fields were fertile, they lacked planning and the crops were not properly arranged. The farmer realized this and began to learn how to manage his fields more scientifically. In the end, his harvests improved significantly."

After hearing this story, Li Ming fell into deep thought. He realized that he rarely reflected on his actions from an external perspective and relied solely on subjective judgment. Therefore, he decided to change, actively seeking advice from others and seriously listening to their opinions.
